Gifts, HomeThe Landworkers' Alliance is a union of farmers, growers and land-based workers working towards a better food system for everyone! Where deep cracks have been exposed in our food system, we are working to build something better, fairer and more resilient for producers and consumers. Every purchase of our fundraising calendar goes towards this important work.
Our 2022 Calendar
This calendar showcases twelve climate friendly practices that are part of the solution for cooling the planet and building the world we know is possible. It is informative, hopeful and inspiring - and makes a great gift! The images for the calendar are bright, bold and hopeful - in a contemporary yellow pallet, and are once again created by Rosanna Morris – the talented, socially engaged artist behind our last three sell-out calendars. Whilst always tracing back to the land, the solutions featured here are expansive in their outlook: "Our clothing can be a carbon sink" you will read in April as we examine how we can grow our clothes and undo the destructive impact of disposable fashion. "Let's grow our houses!" is the rallying cry for July, as we look at the climate impact of our housing stock. And in October, we move of the land and onto the sea, to look at how climate and social justice interweave for fishing communities here and around the world. With justice and community at their heart, these examples are accompanied by 9 more hopeful, real world climate-supporting solutions that we can put into practice right now. Size: 30cm x 30cm Paper: 100% recycled A note on posting: To keep postage costs down, calendars will be posted Royal Mail Second Class. Our posting days are Monday and Friday. Gifts, Home, Media & PublicationsThis summer the Landworkers’ Alliance is releasing its album: Stand Up Now. Buy your CD copy on this page (head here if you would prefer a digital download) This amazing collation of songs draws on the collective talent of our membership and musicians who support our cause. Stand Up Now collates traditional and original music gathered from the farms, woods and cities of our contested nation, and stands in a proud tradition of peoples’ music and peoples’ history. Recorded the cold wet spring of 2021, these fifteen songs raise the eternal themes of our present and of our past; love, liberty and the struggles of labour. Stand Up Now includes recordings from Robin Grey, The Norfolk Broads, Ewan McClennan and many more. It includes contemporary stories such as Owen Shiers’ ballad of the community farm Trecadwegan, as well as the timeless classics, such as that which gives the album its name. Our countryside is bedevilled with struggle, but a better world is coming, and it’s singing as it comes. They may own the land, but the songs belong to no one…£12.00£12.00 -
