Academic/Research Enquiries

Please look at the Agroecology Research Collaboration to see if it fits your area of research/work.

Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Contacting Individual Staff

Please take the time to explore our staff page here to see who the most relevant contact for your enquiry is. Our addresses format is firstname.lastname@landworkersalliance.org.uk Please bear in mind we all work part time and have limited capacity to respond to enquiries outside our core areas of work. You can also find information under the About Us header about branch and regional organising, and identity groups within the LWA membership.

    Hello everyone!

My name is Theresa, I’m 32 and currently live in East Sussex and Portugal but plan to relocate to the Bristol/Stroud/Forest of Dean area in the spring of 2020. I am looking for an organic market gardening/farm job for next season. I would love to be given the opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced growers.

I currently run a popular woodland campsite near Battle and work for the organic veg box scheme Pea Pod Veg in Hailsham. My husband and I own 8 acres of traditional olive grove, pasture and mixed woodland in Portugal and our aim is to set up a small business there in the future, growing vegetables and fruit for local restaurants and a veg box scheme.

In my season at Pea Pod Veg, a two year old market garden, I was able to gain experience in commercial food production, first as a volunteer and then as a paid member of staff. I had the opportunity to observe the dynamics of this young business through the season and work in a small team with the owners Abby and Thad. With them I gained experience in many aspects of growing, harvesting and veg box packing, and now want to further develop my knowledge of growing high quality crops.

I am a practical, adaptable and enthusiastic person, and take joy in efficiency and holistic systems. Health and happiness are key to me – nourishing food, a nourishing environment, continuous learning and regular exercise (climbing and running) are my tools to achieving them.

I will spend the coming winter in Portugal but will be in the area next week (29th Oct – 2nd Nov) and again from March 2020 if you would like to meet me. CV and references available on request. We can also arrange a working interview, Skype chat etc if you like.
