The Agroecology Research Collaboration (ARC) has developed guidance for those interested in pursuing academic research with farmers, growers, foresters and other land-based and food system workers, as well as organisations representing these individuals and communities.
As interest in agroecology increases in the academic sphere, organisations such as the Landworkers’ Alliance, and our members, have experienced issues with extractive research practices, research overload, and unrealistic expectations. We hope that the guidance provided in this booklet will help us to better coordinate the efforts of the farming and research communities, so that we can work together to support the agroecology movement.
The booklet includes advice on research methods, finances, communication and setting expectations, and has specific guidance for students and researchers at different stages of their careers.
If you would like to discuss any of the information offered, or would like talk over your own research proposal, please get in contact with our research coordinator Tara: tara.wight@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk
