Requests for work, volunteering or internships

Academic/Research Enquiries

Please look at the Agroecology Research Collaboration to see if it fits your area of research/work.

Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Contacting Individual Staff

Please take the time to explore our staff page here to see who the most relevant contact for your enquiry is.

LWA Northern Ireland gathering

Inaugural meeting of the newly formed NI branch of the LWA. Helping promote local land workers’ rights and develop positive connections.

Saturday 1st July, 11.30-15.30

Let us know you’re coming via eventbrite

Hosted at Jubilee Farm, Larne – Northern Ireland’s first community owned farm.

Invitation

A Northern Ireland branch of the LWA has been formed by landworkers looking to tackle local and national issues within Northern Ireland. While setting up this branch, we’ve been working closely with Talamh Beo, the LVC members in the Republic of Ireland.

This first in person meeting will be a chance to meet other LWA members and non-members in Northern Ireland, learn more about the LWA, and think together about what we want the NI branch to achieve.

The hope is that this gathering will create the conditions that allows the seed of the LWA NI to grow, recruiting more members to build our collective power for change.

An informal event is planned at Jubilee Farm, Larne – Northern Ireland’s first communtiy owned farm.

Details of the gathering

Date: Saturday 1st July

Time: 11.30am to 3.30pm

Accessibility information

This event will involve meeting in the farm house at Jubilee Farm as well as walking around the farm. Please dress appropriately for the weather as some of this will involve being outside and walking over rough ground. If you have any access needs, which could include dietary requirements or interpretation e.g. sign language, you can let us know in the registration form.

If have any questions or would like to discuss how we can support any access needs you have, please contact n.ireland@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk.

Transport

Jubilee farm is located ~1 mile or 20 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop and train station in Glynn. If you’d like a lift from the train station then we can help with that.

Car share can also be organised between attendees via the organising members – we’ll be in touch with you by email to organise this nearer to the time.

Your questions answered

Do I have to be an LWA member to attend? – No, all are welcome at this meeting with the hope that you’ll learn about why being a member of the LWA might support you

What should I bring with me? – Bring whatever you need to be comfortable for the day, we’ll be walking outside so check the weather. Brews and biscuits will be provided, and if you’d like to bring a dish to share for the potluck lunch that would be very welcome.
