Today, August 9th, marks International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.
We encourage you to spend some time today engaging with and listening to Indigenous voices, learning about the challenges facing Indigenous communities around the world (including the impact of Covid), and gaining a deeper understanding of the contribution and knowledge that Indigenous peoples bring to the world.
Here are a few of our suggestions:
– Lyla June talking at the ORFC about Indigenous Food Systems.
– Gather, a film about Native American identity and food sovereignty
– Indigenous With The Earth podcast
– We Feed The World: a photo exhibition including some inspiring Indigenous stories
