Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Contacting Individual Staff

Join us in London on April 26th 2025!

The UK food sovereignty movement is taking to the streets of London!

When?

Saturday April 26th

Meeting at 1pm

Ready to march at 2pm

Where?

Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, London, SE11 5HL

Then marching to DEFRA offices, via the Home Office

On April 26th 2025, we’ll be bringing together farmers, growers, food system workers, activists and everyone who has a stake in the UK’s food system (yes – that includes you!) to march in London under the banner ‘Food In Our Hands’.

Join us!

There’s a lot to be angry about in 2025; from Defra’s abrupt closure of the SFI scheme and the ongoing struggle of food producers to make a decent living, to rising inequality and continued attempts by the far-right to hijack UK farming.

It’s now more important than ever for us to come together and build a broad and progressive coalition across the UK’s food, farming and land working sectors, and present our vision for a more just and equitable future.

To showcase the strength and diversity of our movement, we need as many feet on the streets as possible – so we’re calling on you to join us!

Food In Our Hands’ is a collective struggle to transform the UK’s food system – from field to fork. Our mission is to build a powerful, diverse and anti-oppressive movement for food sovereignty in the UK, to reclaim food as a basic human right and heal our relationship to the land, and to stand up for the livelihoods of farmers, landworkers and food system workers.

Why are we marching?

What are our demands?

1. A bigger budget for nature-friendly farming across all four nations

2. The implementation of a National Food Strategy for England

3. Measures to guarantee a fair and secure income for farmers and farmworkers

4. Substantial measures to improve access to land for new entrants

Get involved and help us to spread the word!

If you are an individual, group or organisation who would like to support the march, endorse our demands or get involved in the organising, please fill in this form to pledge your support.

You can also directly join the public WhatsApp callout group via this link: tinyurl.com/whatsappfioh
