There was a lot to be angry about in Spring 2025; from Defra’s abrupt closure of the SFI scheme and the ongoing struggle of food producers to make a decent living, to rising inequality and continued attempts by the far-right to hijack UK farming.
On April 26th 2025, we brought together farmers, growers, food system workers, migrant farmworkers, food and climate justice activists, and anyone who felt they have a stake in the UK’s food system to march in London under the banner ‘Food In Our Hands’.

Why were we marching?
We marched to build a unified antifascist, antiracist progressive front within the food and farming sector, and to demand the systemic transformation of our food system underpinned by a Right to Food.
What were our demands?
