Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Hyfforddiadau

Agroecology Training & Exchange Network

Rydym yn gweithio i ddatblygu rhwydwaith hyfforddi a chyfnewid ym maes agro-ecoleg ar draws y DU, i gynnwys ffermwyr, tyfwyr, coedwigwyr a gweithwyr y tir sy’n ymarfer dulliau ffermio a rheolaeth tir agro-ecolegol. Nod y rhwydwaith yw llenwi rhai o’r bylchau sydd mewn hyfforddiant agro-ecolegol, yn ogystal ag annog arloesedd ac arfer orau trwy gyfnewidfeydd a dysgu rhwng cymheiriaid.

See the calendar for upcoming events or contact your regional coordinator for groups in your area.

Farmer-to-Farmer Groups

Farmer-to-farmer groups create opportunities for low-cost peer-to-peer exchange. A number of groups have been set up around the country and we are working to develop more. Groups generally get together at the beginning of the year to decide on who will be hosting sessions and what topics they will look at. The groups then meet up at members farms on a monthly basis to explore the topics, share experiences and look at practical examples.

Mae grwpiau ffermwr i ffermwr yn syml i’w trefnu ac nid oes costau sylweddol ynghlwm â’u gweithrediad. Maent yn arf effeithiol ar gyfer rhannu profiadau a gyrru arloesedd a chydweithio.

MENTORIO

A mentoring relationship between experienced practitioners and new entrants in the first years of running a land-based enterprise is extremely valuable and can have a significant impact on the development of the business and the success of the new entrant. We are working to develop mentoring schemes that partner experienced practitioners with new entrants for farm visits and support in setting up enterprises and troubleshooting in the first years.

Information about mentoring opportunities will be accessible to LWA members as they become available

hyfforddeiaethau

Mae hyfforddeiaethau ar ffermydd, lle mae newydd ddyfodiaid yn gweithio ochr yn ochr â ffermwr, tyfwr neu goedwigwr profiadol am dymor neu ddau, yn llwybr pwysig i gael mynediad i weithio ar y tir, ac yn chwarae rôl prentisiaeth anffurfiol i lawer o bobl.

Rydym yn cydweithio ag aelodau sy’n cynnig gwaith dan hyfforddiant i wella cysondeb yr hyfforddiant a ddarperir, ac i grwpio aelodau o fewn yr un ardaloedd i ddarparu’r elfennau theoretig ar y cyd ac i drefnu ymweliadau a chyfnewidfeydd fferm. Trwy wneud hyn, ein nod yw gwella’r profiad hyfforddi a sicrhau fod yr hyfforddiant o ansawdd uchel.

Farm Start Network

Er mwyn goresgyn rhai o’r rhwystrau sy’n wynebu newydd ddyfodiaid yn y sector amaeth, mae Cynghrair Gweithwyr y Tir yn cydweithio ag aelod-sefydliadau sy’n rhedeg prosiectau ‘farm start’ neu ‘farm incubation’ o bob cwr o’r DU i ddatblygu rhwydwaith arfer orau ac annog gwaith i ddatblygu cyfleoedd newydd.

Mae Farmstarts yn cynnig cyfle pwysig i bobl roi prawf ar eu syniadau ffermio a thyfu mewn amgylchedd gwarchodedig, tra’n adeiladu ar eu gwybodaeth, eu sgiliau, eu hyder a’u profiad er mwyn symud ymlaen i’w fferm neu ardd fasnach eu hunain. Trwy gynnig mynediad at dir, marchnadoedd, offer a hyfforddiant, mae farmstarts yn tynnu llawer o’r risg ariannol a’r straen oddi ar newydd ddyfodiaid yn ystod y camau cynnar hanfodol hyn, gan eu galluogi i ganolbwyntio ar ddarganfod pa fath o fusnes sy’n gweithio orau iddyn nhw.

Mae Farmstarts yn llwybr mynediad pwysig i fyd amaeth, ac yn llenwi bwlch yn y cyfleoedd sydd ar gael i newydd ddyfodiaid. Yn achos y mwyafrif, bydd cymryd cyfle farmstart yn dilyn ymlaen o ryw fath o hyfforddiant a phrofiad gwaith ar fferm, ac yn rhoi iddynt gyfnod o ychydig flynyddoedd i roi prawf ar eu syniadau yn y byd go iawn cyn cymryd camau pellach i sefydlu eu busnes eu hunain ar sail hirdymor.

To support the development of more farm start sites we have produced a guide and set of case studies to provide some best practice guidelines, based on the experiences of established organisations. Alongside this handbook we have established a network of farmstart organisations that can share experiences and support one another in the spirit of mutual aid and solidarity.

Mae Cynghrair Gweithwyr y Tir yn cydweithio â mudiadau eraill i ffurfio Rhwydwaith Sofraniaeth Hadau yn y DU. Ein nod yw cynyddu cynhyrchiant a dosbarthiant hadau agro-ecolegol sydd wedi eu tyfu yn y DU er mwyn gwella cynaliadwyedd a gwytnwch amaethu a thyfu.

Political Training and Movement Building

We organise trainings for groups of members to build skills and knowledge in influencing political decisions and policy making, and in organising and movement building.

Our political trainings are focused on building a stronger understanding of the history of agricultural policy and the ways in which political and policy decisions can be influenced. We aim to build members confidence in working with decision makers and the media.

Our movement building trainings are aimed at building skills in union organising, facilitating meetings and organising events, as well as understanding the history and objectives of the Landworkers’ Alliance.

See the calendar for upcoming events or contact us if you are interested in organising a training in your area.
