Requests for work, volunteering or internships

We are currently not recruiting for any roles but please read our newsletters for any announcements. We currently do not offer any volunteer or internship placements directly with the LWA, but keep an eye out in the newsletter or on the forum for any members looking for volunteers or workers.

Academic/Research Enquiries

Please look at the Agroecology Research Collaboration to see if it fits your area of research/work.

Membership Support / Advice

Currently the LWA does not have capacity or resources to help individual members or potential members on their specific projects, farms or programmes. We get a lot of requests for individual support and would love to have the time to respond to each request in full. We are fundraising for a new role for somebody to focus on membership support and services as we have identified it is a gap in our offering so please watch this space. Having said that, if your query is critical and urgent please email info@landworkersalliance.org.uk including the word URGENT in the subject header and it will get picked up and we can try our best to help.

Contacting Individual Staff

Please take the time to explore our staff page here to see who the most relevant contact for your enquiry is.

Please bear in mind we all work part time and have limited capacity to respond to enquiries outside our core areas of work.

You can also find information under the About Us header about branch and regional organising, and identity groups within the LWA membership.

Landworkers’ Alliance Album launch party

Get your tickets now for the launch of the Landworkers’ Alliance album: Stand Up Now. Stand Up now has been recorded 2021 from members of our farmers union and supportive musicians.

This summer the Landworkers’ Alliance is releasing its album: Stand Up Now. This amazing collation of songs draws on the collective talent of our membership and musicians who support our cause. Stand Up Now collates traditional and original music gathered from the farms, woods and cities of our contested nation, and stands in a proud tradition of peoples’ music and peoples’ history. Recorded the cold wet spring of 2021, these fifteen songs raise the eternal themes of our present and of our past; love, liberty and the struggles of labour.

Stand Up Now includes recordings from Robyn Grey, The Norfolk Broads, Ewan McClennan and many more. It includes contemporary stories such as Owen Shiers’ ballad of the community farm Trecadwegan, as well as the timeless classics, such as that which gives the album its name. Our countryside is bedevilled with struggle, but a better world is coming, and it’s singing as it comes. They may own the land, but the songs belong to no one…

To celebrate the launch of the album, we’re throwing an album launch party!

COVID restrictions

In the light of recent changes to COVID restrictions we’re having to adapted the event a bit, but we’re pleased to say we’re still going ahead. We’re having to reduce the numbers to 150 people, so we’ve now only got a few tickets left on sale, so if you do want to come, please get your tickets quick.
The party will now also take place in a covered outdoor space, rather than inside a barn. This means we have to finish amplified music by 10pm, so we’re inviting people to arrive from 4pm.
To keep us all safe, we are asking if everyone can please take a lateral flow test before coming, and leave enough time to then get a proper PCR test if you get a positive result for the lateral flow. If, on the basis on getting these tests, you have to self-isolate and miss the event, we will refund your ticket. If this is the case we’re so sorry, but please do email us on communications@staging.landworkersalliance.org.uk and we will arrange a refund for you. Also, if you are unfortunate enough to miss this event, please consider coming to the LWA Land Skills Fair later in the summer.
In the light of these changes can you please remember to:

– Bring enough warm clothes to be happy and comfortable in an covered outdoor space for the evening

– Unfortunately due to licensing restrictions we cannot sell alcohol but you can bring your own booze

– Adjust your plans to the new arrival time of 4pm

– During the ceilidh, folk will be advised to only dance in sets of people from their bubbles.

– We’re in need of 5 volunteers to help steward the event. If you’d like a free ticket for stewarding, please contact Humphrey on 07702810555.

– If you’d like to look at our Covid-19 risk assessment here is a link
