The Scottish Government are currently seeking responses for two consultation activities at the moment. These are the “Agricultural Transition” consultation, and the “Local food for everyone – a discussion” consultation, both of which have response deadlines this November.
The first consultation – ‘Agricultural transition – first steps towards our national policy’ has been designed to inform Scotland’s transition out of the Common Agricultural Policy and the subsequent replacement of the Direct Payments scheme.
The second consultation – ‘Local food for everyone – a discussion’ – will be used to inform future policy on local food systems in Scotland.
These consultations present an opportunity to input on future farming and food policy in Scotland and a change to represent our members’ interests on a policy level.
Having held several open consultation workshops to gather input and insight from our Scotland members, we have now drafted full written responses to both of these consultations.
