As a union of land-based workers we strive to represent our members’ interests at government and policy level. We advocate for more and smaller farms, support for new entrants into farming, and for agroecology and food sovereignty to be recognised as real solutions to the multitude of social and environmental crises we currently face.
We take pride in the holistic approach we take in our advocacy work, and indeed many of our campaigns significantly overlap as we consistently promote a framework for our food and land systems underpinned by the values of food sovereignty, agroecology and climate justice.
We lobby for policy changes and better legislation in different jurisdictions – with some campaigns being specific to the devolved nations of the UK, and as a member of the global peasant movement La Via Campesina we also take a transnational approach to the campaigning work we do, standing in solidarity with peasant struggles across the globe.
