The Landworkers’ Alliance will be launching the UK’s first Draught Animal Power Network (DapNet) on Sunday 3rd April at TinkersBubble in Somerset. The day will include demonstrations of horse-powered field work & logging, presentations of modern and traditional draught-powered tools and a seminar to discuss the potential of a network for connecting and training draught-animal landworkers in the UK. The day will also offer an opportunity to have a go at leading or driving a working horse and using draught-powered cultivation tools.
Due to the interactive nature of this first DapNet event there will be a strict limit on numbers based on a first-come basis. In the first instance you should register that you would like to attend by email@example.com or calling 07858381539. You will then be asked to complete an online booking form including a £10 booking fee to help cover costs.
The event will run from 10.00am – 5.00pm on Sunday 3rd April and will include a shared lunch. There is an option of arriving at TinkersBubble on the evening of Saturday 2nd April & staying on Sunday 3rdfor a bring & share meal, fire, music & camping. Attendees are encouraged to share cars as much as possible, further information & directions will be supplied on completion of booking.
